Question Asked: I recently came down with a rash that is probably from PI. Since I have never had one before, I have had a hard time believing it, until last night when I was doing a little research in my yard for the source. That is when I found this little guy, and several friends. Right next to my burn pile.

Answer: Hi Jeff -

When I first looked at your picture, I said "nope no poison ivy there" Looks like brambles - maybe blackberry or other similar. There are several characteristics of the main plant that just aren't right such as the deep grooves on the leaflet, the leaflet shape, the double toothed leaflets, and the little prickles I believe I see on the stems. THEN I noticed in the very top of the first picture just over from the left corner a little sneeky plant - one just not that noticeable but yet... yeah that sure looks like poison ivy. If you look closely you'll see that we have 2 distinct plants in the first picture. That little bit of the top plant has the characteristics of poison ivy that we look for.
