Question Asked: My husband and I live in Racine, WI. I was working in the yard the other day and have since developed a rash on my arms that resembes small hives and itches terribly. I noticed that there is a vine running up a walnut tree and was wondering if this could be the culprit. I was weeding in and amongst the vicinity of this tree.

Answer: Hi LeAnn -

Yes that does look like poison ivy and is the most likely culprit for your rash. All the signs are there. Thank you for some excellent pictures showing great detail. You can see the flower cluster froming from that angle between the leafstalk and the stem. The aerial rootlets show as well. There are even a few black dots here and there on the leaflets. Yup - plenty of signs that this is poison ivy.
