Hot Showers will make it worse.
hot water opens your pores, if there is any of the oil still on you it will propagate it to spread much, mcuh quicker (though it does feel strangely good).
Cold showers cut the oils and stops the spreading, I would take one 1-3 times per day, till you are sure there is no more oil on you!
Disinfect everything with strong soap and cold water, wear gloves, the oil stays on everything! I have had really bad poison oak many times and it stops much quicker if you dissinfect everything. any little oil can re-trigger it!
thanks, also it reall doesn't have to last forever, if you get rid of all the oil and aren't re-exposing yourself, it can be on the way out in less than a week...
