About 10 years ago I had my first experience with poison ivy by accidentally picking it up by the roots. My right hand swelled and blistered, and I had it on the tops of my feet from wearing sandals and on my penis (don't pee in the woods after touching poison ivy!). I had to get a steroid injection for this and after a couple weeks it went away.

Ever since, every year around Spring I break out in the same spots, and it's happened again this year and no one seems to have heard of this problem before. A few days ago I woke up and could feel the beginnings of my hands getting hot and itchy, my penis was starting to get a rash and now there's the telltale spots on the tops of my feet.

I'm on prednisone which fixes it 100% but it literally wipes me out and makes me feel horrible. Taking hydroxazine for the itch. My question is has anyone else ever heard of this happening? I never go near woods, I work in a city then I drive home to a city I have zero contact with this plant and yet like clockwork I get the same outbreak every year in the same spots I had poison ivy and the same feeling. Any advice on how I can get rid of this?
