I have a bad poison ivy reaction. (16 years of immunity getting even with me) and I find for the actual itchy parts, take gold bond foot powder and put a good coating over it, then wrap with ace bandage and gauze. The powder will feel extremely cold but will stop the itching. The oils will ooze into the powder, drying the PI. Be sure to clean off the caked on powder from your PI and put fresh powder on every 6 to 8 hours. I also took benadryl. once the swelling and oozing stops, do nothing but take allergy medication (If you can) and let it air out. My hand was the size of a catcher's mitt 2 days ago and now It's almost completely gone.
