I must be the exception to the exception to the exception. I am truly IMMUNE to poison ivy, oak, and sumac. I have been bare handed handling these plants in a big way for over 50 years and never suffered any rashes or irritations.

When I say in a big way, I have cleared acres with healthy growths of poison ivy, oak and sumac. Pulled it out by hand, chopped it up with my tractor, and burned piles and piles of it. I never knew what it was until my wife told me after we were married.

I may not be allergic to Ivy, oak, or sumac but I did make five trips to the hospital a couple of years ago for anaphylaxis shock from other sensitivities. Some of those sensitivities are, peanuts, bananas, some antibiotics, and bee stings.

I guess it tit for tat. Somehow you always end up paying the piper.
