Thanks for your response aunt JB. I started taking the prednisone yesterday after seeing internist, dermatologist and OBGYN, all of whom had differing opinions. Ultimately, my OBGYN said it was fine and wouldn't hurt the baby to be on a low dose of it for a short period of time. I'm on my second day of the prednisone and feel slightly less itchy on my face but elsewhere still itchy and red.

The most frustrating thing is to not really know for sure if it is poison sumac/ivy/oak or something else I'm dealing with. I've had poison oak before and I guess being more hormonal in pregnancy might have made me more susceptible to getting something like it again. I'm going on day 12 of the rash - isn't it awful! I just hope it goes away - at least today it doesn't seem to have spread anywhere else so that's a good sign! Noxema in the fridge has been the only thing that has given the itch some relief. I hope your rash clears up soon!
