My neighbor has a BIG old locust tree with big poison ivy vines up and down it's trunk. In late fall the ivy leaves drop on my back lawn. I know enough to be careful about raking up the fallen leaves there. Come spring I fire up the mulching mower for 1st grass cutting of season. It finally occurred to me that all those poison ivy leaves that were dropped in the fall are causing this re-curring problem I've been having for the past few years. Every spring, with-in the same few weeks I've been breaking out with this itchy rash. Doctor has prescribed prednisone several times and tested me for what I thought was a spring time allergy. Well, duh, I'm now sure that there remains many of those poison leaves curled up and invisible on/in the back lawn; anxiously awaiting my first couple of passes with the mulching mower. I'll be suiting up for lawn mowing in the future.
