I contacted something the end of July. Looked like flea bites. When they started spreading in size (quarters) and getting blisters I visited a doctor who didn't know what it was. Steroid shot, antibiotics, Zyrtec (prescribed antihistamine) and benadryl shot was given. Two days later I'm in the emergency room as it is spreading worse. Culture on fluids proved negative. He also did not know what I had. Put me on 6 day steroid pack. Three days later while visting children's check-up doctor she takes one look and says you got into Poison Ivy! By this time I have found this website and have stripped/washed sheets and clothing every day, taking a bath with Burt's Bees Poison Ivy soap, using steroid cream, Calamine lotion, Caladryl, etc. you name it I have tried it. My problem is...where the initial sores were (on my inner arms and stomach) they are slowly clearing up. Two days ago I noticed more "flea bite" looking red spots on my thighs -- 13-16 on each leg to be exact. Where are they coming from? I have washed everything I can think of - and thought by now, if what I have is poison ivy, that it would not still be spreading? The new spots that start up are not turning into the blisters like the first generation, but do grow in size to about a dime size, itch and seem to spawn more little dots in and around that initial site. What can I do?
