After cutting down a tree covered in poison ivy (didn't know it until the rash appeared!), we shredded the branches (also covered in poison ivy) and then spread the clippings on a bank to use as mulch. Is the poison ivy that got shredded with the branches still active? If so, for how long? And what are the chances that it will begin to grow on the bank, even though it has been shredded with tree limbs? In other words, should I remove all the mulch that is infested with poison ivy, or is it ok to keep there? Thanks so much in advance!
