I think it was on our clothes, and we sat on the sofa and kitchen chairs before we realized we'd caught it, and I seem to be MUCH more allergic to it than hubby. What to do with the sofa? How do I clean it of the Urushiol oils?

I can cover the sofa with sheets for a while, but for a whole year?? From what I read about TECNU mentioned above, that is for a person to use, not for cleaning furniture.

I was planning on recovering the kitchen chairs anyway, so that's easy. But any ideas on cleaning upholstered furniture? Professional cleaning? Do I need to ask for anything specific for cleaning Poison ivy/oak/sumac?

Thank you for any answers.
