We've had some luck with Round Up BUT it requires diligence and using the concentrate. I've never had much luck with the pre-mixed RoundUp. Mix concentrate according to directions in sprayer and add a little dishwashing detergent (I use Dawn). The soap helps the RoundUp to adhere better plus helps make the water "wetter" (surface tension). Spray on undesirables making sure to coat well both on top and under leaf. Will require successive sprays but does work.

For areas where I'm concerned about surrounding plants or sensitive areas, I do as Jim does. Suit up and pull.
