Hey, I know what you all mean! I get poison ivy every year about 2 to 3 times a year, and it keeps getting worse! I just dont like the idea of staying inside all the time, and then i eventually forget to look out for it while i'm tromping around in the woods!

Currently, I walked into smoke from a fire about two weeks ago, so i'm getting over poison ivy on both wrists, one upper arm, the chest, the butt, one back leg and one ankle! fun, fun!

Jenny, abou the hot (or even warm) showers, warm water "excites" poison ivy - try taking a cool(or better yet cold shower) and washing with soap formulated for poison ivy. this calms down the itching until practically the next time you have to shower!

Also, i've found using calamine (spelling?) lotion helps a TON. I've gotten poison ivy on my knuckles before..yeah, it sucks...this type you pretty much have to accept and resist. calamine lotion doesn't do much good (not for me at least) and i've never had much luck with the alcohol treatment.

Good luck everyone, I hope this helps!
