I have had my battles with poison ivy and it is hard to kill with ordinary herbicides. I've found that most common products simply do not kill poison ivy. Look for a chemical that specifically lists poison ivy as one that it will kill. I've had very good luck with "Roundup Poison Ivy and tough brush killer plus". Regular Roundup caused temporary brown spots but never killed the vine.

I'm not sure if there are any products that will kill poison ivy and not grass.

I would "suite-up" and pull it out by hand. I've had good luck with this method. I put on some gloves and a long sleeve shirt and use a small fork shaped weed tool to pry up the roots. I throw it all in a plastic trash bag, wash the gloves with bleach and water, put the trash bag in another clean bag, and then wash all my clothes separately from the famaily wash.

Fun, fun!

Best of luck.
