You must clean, one way or another, every pair of shoes you wear or have come in contact with getting the poison ivy. I found that I re-infected myself by wearing sandals (as well as clothes) that I wore while I didn't know I had poison ivy. I threw all my gym shoes into the washing machine and hand scrubbed leather shoes to get the oils off.
