I had indeed knowingly weeded out Poison Ivy, using disposable gloves that I discarded each time I pulled a Ivy vine. I was VERY CAREFUL, and I wash off many times. But later in the day, I was clearing my fence line, and pulled out other vines (I know exactly what poison Ivy looks like), that were unfamiliar to me.
After I got these horrible blisters, and showing my skin to my neighbor, I was told that I came in contact with poison oak. As far as I knew, it didn't grow here! But the images on the WEB sure do look like Poison Oak.
