When you soak or run hot water over the rash (even a blow dryer),it is causing histamenes to release. The substance in the cells that cause intense itching. The heat should be gradually increased to the max tolerable until the itching has subsided. It depletes the cells of histamene and you can get up to eight hours of relief. I did this last year ( I was a first timer) and it helped tremendously, altho I only found out about it a week into it. Now, I am undergoing the second time. Pretty much got it under control with the heat now.
