its normal to take a few days before the reaction is observed as well as normal to have contaminated clothing spreading the oil to other areas or people. the oil can last quite a while when not in contact with skin.

if there are no noticable signs of improvement within 3 days of taking a prescription, call the doc immediately and let them know. in the meantime, you can use benadryl or hot showers + domeboro to relieve the pain...dont touch the area (as to scratch or rub), be religious about it.
