FYI------The active ingredient in rhus tox pills is made from Rhus toxicodendron (poison ivy). The poison ivy is made safe for ingestion through a specific homeopathic manufacturing process, briefly described as follows: One part of the poison ivy leaves is placed into nine parts dilutant (ethyl alcohol and distilled water) which is then stored for 30 days. The plant material is then removed and the remaining fluid (tincture) is mixed with nine parts ethyl alcohol and distilled water and vigorously shaken. The diluting and shaking is repeated twice more and the result is called a dilution of Rhus tox. 4X (1 part poison ivy to 10,000 parts dilutant). The 4X dilution is then sprayed on unmedicated sucrose/lactose pills. Approximately 5% of the bulk of the pill will have dilutant on it, making the amount of plant material to pill approximately 1:200,000.
