I have had poison ivy for over a week now and rather than getting better, it is getting worse. I have been using OTC products that help with the itch, but new bumps keep appearing everyday. In the last couple of days the amount of blisters has doubled, but remains in the same areas of my ankles, legs and forearms. I have both oozing blisters and smaller misquito-type bumps. I am thinking about going to the doctor, but from reading some of these posts it seems as though prescription and steriod shots don't really help any better. Is it worth it to go to the doctor?

Also a question/comment about reinfecting. If I was reinfecting myself wouldn't the bumps appear in different areas of the body? I just keep getting more in the same areas. (Hopefully I didn't just jinx myself)
