Expect to be in discomfort for anywhere from two to six weeks.
Just let the blisters "go". In the absence of the offending poison (urushiol), itching will NOT make the rash spread. DO consider whether the poison has been smeared on clothes and surfaces, including furniture. It certainly IS possible to exacerbate the problem by renewed contact. Pets are a very common source of exposure to humans. I pet my cat, now, with a paper towel and then I wash my hands. [He thinks I'm weird.]
My advice is that you NOT take Prednisone (unless you take the time to understand what it is supposed to do and how it is supposed to do it). Others on this Forum will likely express a contrary view.
It's a drag but it's not life-threatening (except in some very rare cases...like if you've inhaled the smoke from burning poisonous plants).
