hi,
I'm not sure if your rash is poison ivy, I assume yes? What I do for mine is to run it under extremely hot water for as long as I can, the itching will get a little worse initially and it will hurt, afterwards, the nerve endings seem to calm down and the itching will subside for a few hours. It's sort of like scratching it without the problems of breaking the skin, and causing more itching. I usually use technu before or after I use hot water, and will follow with some benadryl gel lotion. good luck. Mine seems to be calming down a little in terms of itching today, but has gotten much more swollen/inflamed overall. I'm trying to avoid prednisone if possible. good luck
