We are talking about the poison ivy rash. The rash is an over response from the immune system. See this thread about why which may fill in the missing pieces.I completely understand that you do not have time to read all the posts on the board. I assure you though that if you have time, you know more useless trivia than others about this afliction. :-)

I won't begin to argue about 30000 gallons of water in my pool or a typical 200000+ gallon public pool with sanitzer (Chlorine) even if someone found a way to dump the raw oil into the pool. I suspect the real reason would be even if the oil didn't oxidize first it would have a very difficult time bonding to your skin given the amount of water moving the oil around and away from the skin. By the way, Chlorine is a great oxidizer. I don't think the urushiol oil would stand much of a chance against it personally given it oxidizes in air rapidly without any help.

Given that a rash shows up 24-48 hour after exposure to the oil after bonding and that additional rashes continue to show up based on the amount of oil bonded to your skins protein. You are suspose to see additional breakouts over time. The immune system doesn't just wait and then bang... it continues to fight the intruder as it discovers the urushiol bonded proteins. It notices the big problems first. This is where you break out first. I am not talking about systemic cases.

Does this make any sense?
