I have not had poison ivy / oak in over 15 years. I just recently came in contact with one or the other and it has proceeded to cover 75% of my body; turning to large sores on some parts. I have tried everything from Zanfel, Aveno oatmeal bath, calamine lotion, Band-aid itch relief gel, rubbing alcohol and Methylprednisolone tablets. The only thing that seems to be working is the methylprednisolone. I am most disapointed in the Zanfel cream. I bought 2 one oz tubes of this cream @ $42.00 a tube and all it has done for me is pull more of the ooze out of my skin. Fortunatally I am not itching and haven't since I got it but I thought for $84.00 I would see a marked improvement but I haven't seen any improvement at all. I say skip the OTC treatments and go see a doctor. It's worth the time and cheaper in the long run.
