We  have just moved in to a newly built house and there is a very old, very large oak tree at the edge of a wooded area in the back yard.  A very large vine (7 or 8 inches across and 30 to 40 high) which looks an awful lot like the poison ivy vine pictures on this website, ie its "hairy", has shoots coming out of it, and has spots where black liquid seems to have pooled.  The question is, is it possible for PI vines to get this big ?  The leaves on the shoots haven't fully formed yet so I can't tell by that but I need to know because the kids (and I) are tempted to use it to climb up into the tree branches.  Also, if it is PI, does it belong in the Guiness Book of World Records or what?
