Does anyone know how long poison oak oils remain on dogs so that my petting them will give it to me?

Next to bathing them everytime they get into poison oak is there any other way to clean them up to get rid of the oils on their coat?  Or is a cold water rinse sufficient?

Also, same question with regards to if I wear shorts, expose myself to Poison Oak, sit in my car - and then later clean up but reexpose myself from my car seat.

Thanks
