My wife and I were clearing trees and brush on our land and I ended up with posion ivy.  It was the first time in around 28 years for me to get caught by the posionous vine.  It was pretty bad so I went to the doctor and he put me on predisione and within a week after taking the medicine it was under control.  My wife has never had posion ivy and thought she was one of the lucky ones that did not get it, but after about seven days a small amount showed up on her arm.  She put some over the counter medicine on the area, but the next day her arms really looked bad.  On the third day I made her go to the doctor and he put her on predisone.  Within the next two days her poision ivy was really bad, blisters, swelling, weeping, the works.  I made her go back to the doctor and he sent her to the emergency room.  She was admitted to the hospital on Thursday and today is Sundy and she is still there.  They are doing antibiotic drips, presisone around 60 to 80mgs a day.  They are also putting some lotion on her arms and wrapping them to keep the infection out.  She is running around 100 deg temp and is starting to really worry about scaring.  I have tried to be supportive, but am really at my wits end.  Any advice would be appreciated.  The doctor attending her is not a skin doctor?
